How did the BAPA scholarship support you?
The BAPA scholarship allowed me to pursue graduate studies by alleviating some of the financial hardships associated with the undertaking, especially since I come from a low-income, first-generation background. It also introduced me to the community and network of BAPA, which I value immensely.
What was your experience like at BAPA's 2023 Annual Forum?
I presented my research on Bosnia’s contemporary media landscape, discussing broader notions of media ethics and responsibility.
While making my presentation, BAPA was immensely helpful! I received feedback from several members of the BAPA team prior to the forum, helping me put together a deck that forum attendees responded to really well.
Attending the forum taught me that the Bosnian American professional community is expansive and tight knit!
How did your experience with BAPA develop your academic and/or career goals?
I received favorable presentation feedback from BAPA members that instilled a sense of confidence in me that I still carry. I also feel quite proud of BAPA and its members and their achievements, which ultimately inspires me to keep learning and growing.
What advice do you have for Bosnian students who are interested in applying for the scholarship?
Please just apply! And re-apply, too, if you don’t win the first time. Reach out to current BAPA members and previous scholarship recipients to ask questions.
