Adina Husic
As Chair of BAPA, I believe effective leadership is rooted in authenticity. That’s why BAPA will be featuring posts about our board members this year, helping you get to know more about the people behind the organization. Instead of a traditional bio, we’ll share ten interesting things about ourselves that you might not have expected, starting with myself!
1. I strongly dislike mouth noises.
It may seem small, but it is a defining personal quirk, and one I stand by unapologetically.
2. I don’t limit myself to one genre of music.
I appreciate music that tells a story, whether the genre is country, rap, or rock. If it has meaning and emotion, I’m listening.
3. I taught English in Turkey for a year.
I was placed in a small town called Afyon. That experience broadened my world view and reinforced my understanding of cultural connection and empathy.
4. I don’t technically know how to swim.
I can swim well enough to save my life. It may not be pretty, but it gets the job done!
5. I am a crime documentary enthusiast.
Unsolved mysteries, investigative journalism, and true crime documentaries never fail to capture my attention.
6. Beyond BAPA and corporate America, I remain actively involved in my community.
Through activism, I give back and stay engaged where it matters most.
7. I am one of five siblings.
Being the middle child in my family has equipped me with the patience and perspective to navigate diverse personalities.
8. I once had to dispose of an opossum in my backyard.
Only days later did I learn that opossums tend to play dead. Fortunately, this one was placed in the woods behind my house!
9. I may not be able to run, but I can dance the kolo all night long.
Endurance comes in many forms.
10. I always show up when it matters.
I’m incredibly proud of BAPA and all that we’ve accomplished together. My commitment to our team, our organization, and the community we serve is unwavering. I’m also deeply grounded by my family and cherish my role as the tetka to two of the sweetest boys around.
