1. At 19 years old, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Since then, I’ve had to do insulin injections four times per day. I get to bring snacks everywhere, though, so that’s a perk!
2. I’m left-handed, so I have a ton of trouble writing on whiteboards and cutting things with normal scissors.
3. When I was an undergrad in college, I would study and complete my readings out loud in various accents to help me better retain the information. I still do it sometimes if I have to review a really boring piece of writing!
4. My favorite genres of music are rap/hip hop and rock/alternative.
5. I hate overconsumption and having too much clutter around me. This might just be the Californian in me, but ever since I can remember, I turn the water off while brushing my teeth and keep the lights off during the day.
6. I went to community college and had an amazing experience! I met some of my favorite people there and figured out what I really want as my future career. Currently, I work at an ADR firm as a senior case manager and business development associate, and it’s been a great four-and-a-half years learning more about the mediation/arbitration side of dispute resolution.
7. I’ve been skydiving—twice. Both times were before my frontal lobe fully developed. If you asked me to go again now, it’d be a hard no.
8. I have two cats! They’re the first pets I’ve had, and I’m obsessed with them.
9. I love playing volleyball in my free time. Staying active is a huge part of my life.
10. Gift-giving is my love language! Throughout the year, I’ll add little tidbits to my notes app of things my family and friends have mentioned wanting. I love gifting experiences to my loved ones, giving them a lasting memory instead of a temporary material item.
