Originally from Kozarac in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Azra brings a strong international and diverse background academically and professionally, with a B.A in Political Science/International Studies from Loyola University Chicago, and a M.A. in International Affairs from the New School University. Having been an intern at the United Nations (DESA), a consultant for nonprofits, and a fundraiser, Azra has also been an active member of the BiH Diasporic Conference (BiHDYC), the Most Mira – Project in Peacebuilding team, and also serves as a Board Member for the Bosnian-American Professionals Association (BAPA) based in Salt Lake City. In her current role at UNICEF Canada, Azra serves as a fundraiser on the vital individual giving team to make sure every child is reached with life-saving and critical support through UNICEF programming globally. She currently lives in Toronto with her husband, and loves to explore the northern Ontario wilderness, volunteer for Democrats Abroad, and take every opportunity to visit family & friends in Bosnia.
